(2/18/10) – Evan Lysacek became the first U.S. man in 22 years to win the Olympic gold medal, triumphing in Thursday night’s free skate to edge 2006 Olympic champion Evgeny Plushenko of Russia, 257.67-256.36. Lysacek joins Dick Button (1948, ‘52), Hayes Jenkins (1956), David Jenkins (1960), Scott Hamilton (1984) and Brian Boitano (1988) as the only U.S. men’s Olympic champion
